Sketching in Pembroke College

This is the blog post for our next sketchcrawl at Pembroke College, Cambridge on April 23.

There are lots of buildings and gardens to sketch so hopefully the weather will be good!

We will meet in the entranceway to the College at 12.00 and sketch until 2.30, then we will meet up again near the entrance (see photo below) to take a group photo.

Meet in entrance at 12.00
Meet for group photo at 2.30
After our photo call we will meet at the Grads Cafe for hot drinks and sketchbook swapping. The cafe is on the top floor of the University Centre, there is a lift  if the stairs are too daunting. If there is not enough room for us in the Cafe we can buy our refreshments and take them down to the Dining Hall on the 2nd floor where there are big refectory type tables.

1st Anniversary Exhibition

Museum of Cambridge

On Monday I went to the Museum of Cambridge with Yasemin Gyford to set up our 1st Anniversary Exhibition. We worked very hard all day filling up the community cabinet, two corner cabinets, a glass display cabinet and a window display. We hope you like the results!

Many thanks to Clare who helped with the display, and Jackie Leonard who typed up the lists of exhibits and artist contact details, and of course to all of our members who contributed originals, prints and sketchbooks for our display. Also thanks to Hilary and the rest of the museum staff, who plied us with chocolate cake when we were beginning to flag!

The exhibition is open from 10.30 to 5.00 Tuesday to Saturday and 12.00 to 4.00 Sunday until May 8th. Please come and take a look.
